Whether you are an experienced swimmer or a novice the pool is set up for you with designated lanes throughout the day so you can get the best out of your swimming experience. Focus on teaching your child new skills such as water confidence and how to move in water. Introduction to being prone and supine.
For children with the ability to swim 9m freestyle and backstroke, knowledge of breaststroke, and ability to tread water for 30 seconds.
For children who can take instruction and kick on front and back with two boards. Must be able to get their face wet and blow bubbles.
For children who can kick 9m freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke with good technique, and swim 18m unsupported.
For children who can kick 5m on front with one board, putting face down, and kick 3m on back with one board.
For swimmers able to swim 25m freestyle, backstroke, and have a basic understanding of breaststroke and butterfly. Must be able to tread water.
For children who can kick 5m with or without aid, put their face in water, and stand in 1m depth.
For swimmers who can swim 50m freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke, and demonstrate understanding of butterfly.
For children who can kick 9m on front and back with arm action and understand front crawl breathing.
Rookie Lifeguards develop skills in water safety, rescue, resuscitation, and lifesaving techniques.
